Many of us have become so used to operating in a world which just focuses on the negative that it has become difficult to accept positive feedback. If you find it difficult, do you think it will be any different for your staff? Bear in mind that if you find it difficult to accept positive feedback from others, this will almost certainly get in the way of your being able to give positive feedback.

I can’t spell’ (no one has ever tried to help me spell better or I have never heard of spellcheckers on word processors). ‘I don’t know enough to do better than I am doing at the moment’ (I have never even considered a training course or further qualification). By now you will almost certainly have seen that such thinking is negative and will not help the person to develop.
