Our aim is to map out a coordinated agenda of research and development that, by the end of a decade and a half, would provide the nation with the knowledge, 8 Mathematical Proficiency for All Students materials, and programs needed to make the overarching goal of mathematical proficiency and equity attainable. PROGRAM GOALS The first goal of the proposed research and development program is to address the critical problems surrounding the teaching and learning of mathematics in the United States.
